For What It's Worth may refer to:
Buffalo Springfield was an American-Canadian rock band formed in 1966, combining elements of rock, folk, and country music.
Though the band released only three albums and disbanded two years after its formation, its varying lineup brought together a number of diverse musicians who went on to have a lasting impact on rock music, including Richie Furay, Stephen Stills, Neil Young, Dewey Martin, Jim Messina and Jim Fielder.
They released the classic protest song "For What It's Worth" and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
Neil Young and Stephen Stills first crossed paths in 1965, at the Fourth Dimension in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Young was there with The Squires, a Winnipeg group he had been leading since February 1963, and Stills was on tour with The Company, a spin-off from the Au Go Go Singers.
When The Company broke up at the end of that tour, Stills moved to the West Coast, where he worked as a studio musician and auditioned unsuccessfully for, among other things, The Monkees. He had been in a band called Buffalo Fish with fellow Greenwich Village transplant Peter Tork, who encouraged him to audition.
Robert James Ritchie (born January 17, 1971), known by his stage name Kid Rock, is an American singer, rapper, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and actor. His 1998 studio album Devil Without a Cause sold 13 million copies worldwide. He is a five-time Grammy Award nominee and has sold 25 million albums in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan. The RIAA certified him selling 23.5 million albums. He was Soundscan's number-one selling male solo musician of the 2000s, selling 17.6 million albums; he was 17th overall for the decade, and he has sold over 35 Million Records Worldwide.
Rock performed rap and hip hop with five releases between 1990 and 1997, including a reissue and an EP. After signing a recording contract with Atlantic Records in 1998, he gained commercial success in the rap rock genre behind the singles "Bawitdaba", "Cowboy" and "Only God Knows Why" (the latter foreshadowing his move into country rock). After the success of Devil Without a Cause in 2000, he released The History of Rock, a compilation of remixed and remastered versions of songs from previous albums as well as the hit rock single, "American Bad Ass".

If somebody offends to you with its words, Let me know, “This is a DICTATORSHIP that offers freedom, but that does not give the right to insult to the others”. Steve Stills, Neil (very, very) Young and a goofy cameo by Tommy Smothers accompany the performance of "For What It's Worth" - the battle cry of the hippies in the mid sixties.
So much death, unnecassary
so much pain, for what? for what?
wars fought, battles won and lost
people destroyed, for what? for what?
